Beginnings


He developed a solid foundation in the arts due to traveling early in his life with his family. The spontaneous explorations provided Philipp the exposure to the world’s most notable art, museums and cultural exhibits.He studied law before he ventured into the world of design. During his law studies, he started designing exclusive furnishings originally for family and friends. Philipp Plein found himself doing it full time professionally as his designs gained much attention, and eventually founded a company in 1998. Working in leather craftsmanship certainly introduced him to experiment with leather garments and accessories, and finally to launch his own fashion brand in 2004.

The company experienced substantial growth and in 2008, the  first flagship store in Monte Carlo was opened and the first commercial showroom in Milan.
